Victorian Glass
Garden Bracelet
Designed by Kristin Burgess
These two holed treasures are sure to brighten your day! Choose from a variety of soft summer colors in the rectangle or oval shape. These German glass floral beads work wonderfully used as the focal point in this cuff style bracelet. Use Czech glass and seed beads to space them out and offset with an alternative color. Find out how much fun two holed beads are to design with! Choose from erinite, peach, tanzanite, opal and much much more!
This project is great for all levels! Stringing and crimping are involved with this project. The bracelet has a total length of 7&1/4". Four crimp beads and four crimp covers are needed to attach both beaded strands to the two strand vintage brass clasp.

By adding beads evenly you can increase the length of the bracelet without altering the look. The seed beads are necessary as they help with the curvature of the bracelet and allow the larger glass beads to sit comfortably next to each other. With a double strand bracelet it is best to go down one side (going through one side of each two-hole bead) and complete that strand before starting the second strand.
Step 1: Prepare a clutter free workspace to lay out piles of your beads and components on. Start by stringing this pattern onto the Soft Flex spool...2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 erinite 2-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 peach 2-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 erinite 2-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 peach 2-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 erinite two-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads, 1 peach 2-hole, 2 seed beads, 1 cathedral glass, 2 seed beads...
Step 2:
Attach this strand to the two-strand vintage brass clasp using the 2x2mm crimp beads. Remember that the clasp will add some length to your bracelet. If you choose to use a different clasp be sure to measure and consider its length along with the beaded softflex length. A two-strand box type clasp works best with this project as it allows for a similar width as the bracelet making it a clean looking transition form the last bead to the clasp. If you want a shorter style decrease evenly on either ends of the bracelet. I find it helpful to carefully hold the bracelet up to myself around my wrist. This way you can really see how the bracelet is going to look and at what length it looks best! Crimp this finished strand to the other side of the clasp. Be sure that you are crimping your strand to the matching loops on the clasp. Trim any remaining softflex away using the flush cutters.
Step 3: Attach a second precut strand of softflex to the vacant loop on one side of the vintage brass clasp.

Start stringing 2 seed beads, 1 cathderal glass, 2 seed beads, then bring Softflex through already existing vacant hole in the two-hole bead next already strung on the braclet. Every time you come to one of these vacant holes in the two-holed glass you will bring your line through. This bracelet is exactly symmetrical so the second side should reflect the same pattern (mirror image) the first side. After you have completed stringing this strand you will need to crimp it to the clasp on the far side (only hole left!) Be sure to trim away any excess softflex using the flush cutters. Use your pliers to cover the crimps with crimp covers for a cleaner, more professional finish.
As always enjoy!
