Vintage Go-Go Hoop PendantsMade in the Far East 15-18 years ago, these go-go style pendants as much 'now' as they are mod 1960's. We have these in a surprising amount of colors and they are a perfect compliment to other vintage Lucite or gemstone beads. Each is made of a sturdy and solid plastic, not the Lucite recipe, but just as high quality. A bold size, each measures approximately 50mm in diameter.

Vintage Japanese Glass Pearls We recently discovered a load of vintage glass pearls made in Japan ca. 1940's. Many still have original labels on the strands that read 'Made in Japan,' 'Hawk Brand,' and 'Venus Brand.' Our research shows that the first experimentation with a 'simulated or faux' pearl was done by a Parisian rosary maker who noticed that certain fish scales would produced a pearl like finish which he called essence d'orient or pearlessence. Faux pearls were made coating the inside of hollow glass beads with various fish scales and then filling them with wax. Later methods of producing simulated pearls in the early 20th century included coating solid glass or acrylic beads with layers of pearlescent coatings. The more coatings, the higher quality the faux pearl. These particular pearls are a lovely luster and coating and high quality, even considering their age. They are also very limited.

Vintage Glass Fern Pendants We found these pressed vintage glass stones in a warehouse in NYC - they were made ca. 1960-s in Czechoslovakia. Originally manufactured as a pressed cabochon or flat-backed stone, likely created to be made into buttons or clip earrings, we had these pieces custom-drilled so you can easily use them as centerpieces, pendants or fabulous earrings. The glass in these pieces is unreal in that many are a flat color, but many are also almost a 'givre' finish, with striations of clear and varying tones of color throughout the glass. These are a limited quantity item and when they are gone, they?re gone.

Vintage Metal Filigree The vintage filigree pieces in this collection are mostly US-made and date from the 1940's-1970's. Made of various metals, including raw brass, plated metals and copper, these pieces come from designers' overstock supplies such as the overages of Miriam Haskell, Trifari and others. These designers made using filigree a vital part of beadwork in the early 1940's combining strass (glass beads) with these finely tooled, cast metal pieces, creating new dimension in beadwork.
