Vintage 'Cherry' LuciteCherry red is everywhere these days & itâs turning out to be a fashion trend that weâre seeing carried into the Fall season. Lucite & plastics in primary red are in keeping with the retro chic side of this look. The crisp, lipstick colors relive the era of pinup girls and Lucille Ball. These selections are vintage US-made Lucite rounds by Best Plastics of Providence Rhode Island, and were part of the buy that most of our Lucite hails from â the contents of a manufacturerâs warehouse that had closed down in the early 80âs and produced goods for Avon, Trifari, Coro and others. The soft plastic flowers are also vintage, ca. 1960âs and were made in Hong Kong. This softer plastic, while not of the same heavy material as the Lucite, also brings back a real flavor of yesteryear. Plastic fruits are to die for and were made in German ca. 1970âs

Vintage 'Cherry' Czech Glass From our recent glass finding mission, we tracked down a load of glass made in Czechoslovakia, before the wall came down and things were labeled âCzech Republicâ. Most of these are early 1980âs (OK â I know, Iâm feeling vintage myself now that Iâve been doing this long enough to absorb the fact that weâre calling early 80âs era âvintageâ â but weâre using the 25 year standard as we always have â back to taskâ¦) Here youâll find some great cherry red options: from the âeyeâ beads made 25-30 years ago, to the manrbled cherry red and white square nailheads produced around the turn of the century for garments (that is, the LAST turn of the century).

Vintage 'Cherry' Lucite Cabs Vintage Lucite cabs are my new passion â you can glue them to almost anything and find creative ways to use them with beadwork, even though they donât offer a hole. These selections in cherry red make great retro looks when made into rings using adhesive on our vintage metal ring blanks. Or affix them to an earring finding for a quick retro âclip-onâ style look. These pieces are from the Best Plastics warehouse purchase as well making them exclusive to us here at The Beadinâ Path & in limited supply. Produced in Rhode Island sometime between the 1960âs â early 1980âs.

Vintage 'Cherry' Czech Glass Floral Strands Tagged & collectible, these pressed glass floral strands come in a couple of varying sculptured floral styles. Itâs so rare to find beads with this age that actually include tags on the individual strands. Mostly likely manufactured and pre-strung to be finished into necklaces as is, these strands make a precious addition to any vintage bead stash. Tags read âMade in Czechoslovakiaâ & our best estimations say they were made in the 1940âs or 1950âs. 14â strands are ready to go if you just add a chain connector to one side of your clasp or a few matching cherry beads.
